Rebuilding homes
and supporting communities in Ukraine

KHARPP is a charity (registered charity number in England and Wales: 1204531; registered company number in England and Wales: 14080765)  founded at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in early 2022. Throughout 2022, we worked both on the Polish-Ukrainian border, supporting refugees, and in Kharkiv, supporting those who remained behind in the city.

In Autumn 2022, we lauched our KHARPP Remont [Repairs] programme, and gradually shifted our focus to home repairs in de-occupied and formally frontline areas of Kharkiv Oblast.

Today, our focus is the provision of housing support for internally displaced people throughout the country, including the purchasing and repairing of homes in safer areas. We simultaneously continue to support villages throughout Kharkiv Oblast with various humanitarian needs.

As a small, grassroots charity based entirely in Ukraine and run totally by volunteers, we pride ourselves on our ability to act quickly and efficiently, without unnecessary bureaucracy and overheads.

History of KHARPP

Spring 2022

We were founded, originally working in Przemysl train station, and facilitating aid deliveries to Kharkiv. Throughout the following months, we had dozens of volunteers from across the world come to help make the process of evacuation easier and smoother for the thousands fleeing Ukraine.

Autumn 2022

We began our reconstruction programme in Kharkiv Oblast. Over the next two-and-a-half years, we would go on to repair windows, doors, and roofs (among other things) in over 900 homes in the region.

Spring 2025

Following the worsening military situation in Kharkiv Oblast, we switched our focus in that area to emergency support, for example the provision of evacuation vehicles and drone detectors to the villages we work in. At the same time, we moved our repair focus to supporting internally displaced people from the east of Ukraine to renovate homes in safer parts of the country.

Autumn 2025

We purchased our first home for a family of nine from the east of Ukraine in a safer region, enabling them to start their new lives on solid footing, thus beginning our new programme of home purchase internally displaced people.
