As a grassroots charity, we aim to be flexible in our work, changing our focus depending on the needs which we perceive to be greatest. Whilst for the first months of the war, our work centred both support for refugees fleeing Ukraine, and the provision of aid to the frontline city of Kharkiv, we soon shifted to the provision of home repairs to de-occupied and formerly frontline villages in the Kharkiv region. Between 2022-25 we repaired over 900 homes in this area. Whilst the worsening military situation in the area meant that that we were forced to pause this aspect of our work in spring 2025, we continue to support the villages in any way we can, for example though providing drone detectors, purchasing evacuation vehicles, and digging wells. We continue to wait for the day when it will be safe enough to return to these areas and once again rebuild.

Since pausing this rebuilding programme in the Kharkiv region, we have shifted our focus to support for internally displaced people (IDPs), in particular those who are unable to access state support. This support continues to focus on housing, be it the repair of cheap cottages which many IDP families by for themselves for as little as $1,000, but lack the funds to repair - or the actual purchasing of homes in safer areas of Ukraine, ensuring that families are on stable ground as they attempt to rebuild their lives.
